How to Fix Outlook Not Sending or Receiving Emails

Steps to troubleshoot common Outlook desktop and web issues.

Desktop Outlook

  1. Check Internet connection
  2. Restart Outlook
  3. Check mailbox storage
    • If full, delete large items or empty Deleted Items.
  4. Check Offline Mode
    • Send/Receive → Ensure Work Offline is NOT selected.
  5. Rebuild Outlook profile
    • Control Panel → Mail → Profiles → Add → Reconnect account

Outlook Web (OWA)

  1. Open https://outlook.office.com.
  2. Try in an incognito/private browser window.
