How to Recover Deleted Files (OneDrive & Network Drives)

Recover files accidentally deleted from OneDrive or shared drives.

OneDrive

  1. Go to https://onedrive.com.
  2. Select Recycle bin.
  3. Select the files or folders.
  4. Click Restore.

Shared Drives / File Server

  1. Navigate to the folder where the file was deleted.
  2. Right‑click inside the folder.
  3. Select Restore previous versions.
  4. Choose a version from before the deletion.
  5. Click Restore.

Notes

  • OneDrive keeps deleted items for 30 days.
  • Network drives retain previous versions depending on IT retention policy. Get in touch to see what your policy is.
